Bloody hell. That was actually really good science fiction. You do not see that often on TV!

Actually, I think you have to go all the way back to 1987 and the Star Cops episode "Conversations With the Dead" to find something similarly science-fictionally good.

Yes, I've seen BSG, I'll certainly buy the DVDs pretty soon (money situation should be a bit better starting next month) and I'm really looking forward to its second season. So far it's a good story, with interesting characters and SF that's good enough that it doesn't get in the way. There hasn't, IMAO, yet been any episode that stood out as SF, but that is mostly because the main characters' society is closely modeled on our own in order to make it easier to sympathize with their situation... This may well change in a hurry if we get to see more of the Cylon society, which from what we've seen is at least very different from the human one.

BSG is also nearly unique in that it's an SF series that seems to try to deal seriously with religion. This fascinates me a lot, and I hope they can keep doing it without falling into trekkish monoculturalism.
