Statement of Belief

Somewhere I saw a belief meme. It sucked, so I wrote this instead. Feel free to copy, paraphrase or rebut, if you feel so moved.

I believe in the world.
I believe in the sun, the moon and the stars.
I believe that the human species is basically egoistic.
I believe that we lack empathy for those we do not know.
I believe that we do not care about that which is not nearby.
I believe that the powered exploit the powerless.
I believe in the connection of human to human.
I believe in friend helping friend.
I believe in that which connects one person to another.
I believe in the offered helping hand.
I believe in that which helps me get to know another human.
I believe in caring for that which is close in our hearts and minds.
I believe in feeling for and with those we know.
I believe in the power of community.
I believe in love.
I believe in the sun, the moon and the stars.
I believe the world.
