Gah!

Since tuesday this week we've been trying to accomplish a certain task. It would've been easy, if not for the little fact that the guy who knew how to do it just quit and I haven't had time to figure out how to do it yet. So all week there's been an awful lot of faffing to and fro about it (and very little actual doing something about it). Meetings. Mails. Phone calls. Memos. And that sort of thing.

Just now one of the DBAs involved told me that she thought she had some papers that might have to do with this. So I look at them. And they're documentation on the system in question. Detailed documentation. With step by fucking step instructions for the task at hand.

And this she gives me now, at ten to five on Friday afternoon. When it's way too late to use it. She's had the papers for a month.

I hate people.
