Today's annoyances
Nov. 22nd, 2002 10:49 am1) QLogic Fibre Channel HBA configuration. The most fucked-up GUI
configuration utility I've seen in a long time. Once it's seen something, it remembers it forever and refuses to see any changes in the world around it. After simply blowing away all it's stored config from disk and reversing to a pristine non-configured state all the disks we've mysteriously been unable to see suddenly appeared just as they should. Good job, QLogic. Not.
2) Insane and/or stupid installation technicians. Late yesterday I
discovered that the power supply chain to my misbehaving tape robot is fucked. And it was set up that way by my least favourite technician from that vendor. Three months since he stopped working there, and he still manages to fuck up my equipment.
On the good end, we had dinner with Thorbiƶrn, who seemed to be feeling quite well.
