Brain surgery

My main home machine just had a bit of brain surgery, to add a CD-RW drive and another 160GB of disk. So far the patient seems to be recovering well (obviously, since I'm able to write this). The operating system is properly reporting the presence of the new devices. Further developments await some reading of manuals on behalf of the surgeon.

Why doesn't anyone ever tell me when I break stuff on my web site? Not even when it stays broken for weeks?
