This post is mostly written to test hacks I made to the Emacs mode I use to write LJ posts. Just so you know.
We've finished watching the first season of Cleopatra 2525 now, and it was overall better than I expected. A couple of episodes were actually good by most standards. I'll buy the next seasons when (or if) they become available, I think.
But that's not what I was going to write. No, what I was going to write was that the final line of the lyrics to the title music: Looking forward to Humanity's rebirth.
What does that mean? Does that imply that in their universe, humanity is somehow dead and needs to be recreated? Does it mean that Voice and whatever forces she may or may not represent are trying to reshape humanity into something better? I keep getting flashes of Utena while thinking about this: A chicken will die if it cannot break its shell.
It might be possible to make a pretty nifty roleplaying campaign out of the Cleo background, actually.
