Alien Resurrection

Recent postings on my friends list about Alien Resurrection and its relation to Firefly made me want to re-watch it (for the first time since I saw it at the movies back in 1997, I think). And yes, Johner is very clearly a prototype version of Jayne. He's much less entertaining than Jayne is, though, so it's probably just as well that Whedon had to wait for so long to make Firefly.

And while I do remember thinking that there was something going on between Ripley and Call, I didn't remember how very slashy it is. I mean, really. I should probably do a writeup of that on Militant Slasher Reviews (and if you want to help write for that site, talk to faithtastic about getting an account).
