Milla Jovovich Kicking Arse
Mar. 25th, 2006 10:14 pmToday we went to see a movie in a cinema. Ultraviolet, to be precise. We thought about seeing V for Vendetta, but after seeing that one's middling reviews on the net we opted to leave our memories of the graphic novel unsullied and focus on Milla Jovovich kicking ass.
Ultraviolet lived up to our expectations. Jovovich did indeed kick ass and look hot whole doing it. Apart from that... This is not a good movie. The script is atrocious. The background makes absolutely no sense at all, and the plot is even worse. It just barely works as a weak excuse to string together a bunch of action scenes, most of which are so far over the top that they have achieved orbit. Around Mars. The acting is... Actually, you can't really tell, because the characters are so badly written that the skill (or not) of the actor is nearly irrelevant. And the annoying kid from the SG-1 double episode The Fourth Horseman doesn't even die.
Oh well. We're looking forward to the next installment of the Resident Evil series, due to be shown next year. The two RE movies so far have had much better scripts, more plausible action (yes, even the second one!) and much more naked Milla.
