Ruby on Rails 1.0 -> 1.1
Mar. 28th, 2006 09:49 amOk, that was possibly the easiest upgrade of anything ever.
Actually that describes a lot of my experience with Rails so far. It's just so damn easy. And with the new polymorphic associations in v1.1 the last reason I had to possibly write web application code in Perl again just went away.
It's unfortunate that the Ruby world outside Rails isn't quite as awesomely smooth. As soon as I have to do something there, I find myself missing CPAN and perldoc quite a bit.
