Aug. 28th, 2007 12:56 pmWindows is very much too eager to throw up dialog boxes. Particularly ones that take input focus and disrupt whatever I was doing before.
That thingy that's supposed to make the OS safer, by asking for permission before it lets the OS do anything? That may be the most stupidly designed feature I've ever seen. "Hey, you clicked on something in the Control Panel! Press OK to let it do what you asked!". "Hey, you double-clicked on a program! Press OK to let it run!"
And the help system? Where the content for several things start out by explaining why you're supposed to want the thing in question? How wrong is that?
