Maybe I'm strange, but I actually do find the Aero look less eye-searingly ugly than the classic Windows look. But this morning I kind of gave that up and switched over Vista's theme from Aero to Windows Classic. It does seem to make interactive response a little better, but it's still really laggy (for example, when I wrote the word "laggy" there nothing happened while I typed the word and then all of it appeared at once).
