What with Wrath of the Lich King and all, I've let a small mountain of unseen TV series episodes build up. So yesterday I spent most of the day and much of the night catching up some, and now I'm going to inflict some trivial reactions on you lot.

First, Pushing Daisies. Which is the one where I had the fewest unseen episodes, on the account of it being my current favorite series. It's just so adorable. It's cute, and funny, and weird, and has amazing dialog, and I like all the main characters (even Ned, and especially Aunt Lily) and just neat. It is also, of course, canceled :-(

Second, Stargate Atlantis. Which I honestly only still watch because I've kept going this far and there's not very much left. The episodes vary between stupid and boring, and I often feel sorry for the actors. They deserve better than this mediocre rehash of stale ideas.

Third, The Sarah Jane Adventures. Is it just me, or is this series better than either Doctor Who or Torchwood? Yes, ok, they do get preachy at times, and have a tendency to go overly sentimental – but it's still more believably dramatic and genuinely emotional than either of the other two. And I really wonder if they punted Maria across the Atlantic because they realized they were at a point where they'd have to deal with her not entirely one-sided industrial-strength crush on Sarah Jane, and they Really Could Not Go There.

Fourth and last, Heroes. On which I am torn. Overall, it's still fun. But the plot… More than anything else, it reminds me of a roleplaying campaign where the GM has no clue where he's going and is just skipping from one local coolness maximum to another in order to keep the players too distracted to notice that the whole makes no damned sense at all. They even had an entire episode of "no, really, look, it does hang together! For sure!". But, well, that sort of campaign can be an awful lot of fun if you don't think about it too hard. So… Oh, and I saw why there's been such a dramatic rise in the amount of Claire/Elle fic written lately. The entire bit from Elle showing up at Claire's home until they leave the airplane was pretty much pure slashbait. Which is good. More Claire slashbait plz.
