So, this weekend I will be in Edinburgh. My dear hostess will be working Friday evening, so I'm planning to try to meet LJ people then. The plan so far is that I'll be at Khushi's Tandoori Restaurant (suggested by [livejournal.com profile] brandnewgun) at 7pm. That should give me an hour and a bit to find the place, which will hopefully be enough. [livejournal.com profile] brandnewgun and [livejournal.com profile] yonmei has expressed interest in coming (so has [livejournal.com profile] katlinel, but unfortunately she's otherwise engaged). As far as I'm concerned, everyone who's interested enough to actually read this is more than welcome to show up. I'm a 6-foot-something black-clad guy with long blond hair and an equally blond beard. People usually tell me I'm kind of easy to spot in a crowd, a theory which you now have the opportunity to test.

And I'll bring a book in case nobody but me shows up :-)

I'll show up! And I like the part where you make sure everyone knows the restaurant was my choice...

Well, Yonmei also made suggestions and I chose between the ones I got. I just thought that people might like to know that the choice wasn't entirely made by an ignorant tourist.

Are there any good map/wayfinding sites that cover Edinburgh? I tried to buy a map today but failed.

You could try Multimap - here's a map of where the restaurant is according to them. Very close to the centre of town.

([livejournal.com profile] altariel1 pointed me at this entry earlier this evening)

It's evidently a weekend for being in Edinburgh, because I'm there, too! [livejournal.com profile] yonmei mentioned the plans for dinner, so I guess I'll get to meet you... :-) I'm looking forward to it. Oh yes: I'll be the non-descript one.

And so will I, I think! [livejournal.com profile] yonmei mentioned the idea last night, and it sounds good to me.

Also, she described the restaurant herself as "very nice", so I think that Calle's emphasis on it being your suggestion probably just means that you'll get all the credit. ;-)

Good, then. It occurs to me that at that time on a Friday, it might be useful to have a reservation, so I shall phone later and reserve a table in the name of Summers. This strikes me as unlikely to confuse anyone...
