Actually I've always felt that they were quite careful in that episode not to exploit the very obvious. Lets face it - they could have had Sam shag Seth or something....
... but yes re: plot bunnies - my mind went into overdrive on that one and I don't even write fic!!
One of the things I've always liked about Stargate is that it's very good at breeding plotbunnies. Really good series like Babylon 5 never inspire me to write as they are complete in themselves.
Stargate has all sorts of fun alien gadgets to write fic around and various plot holes to fill (after that many seasons, even the good shows have them).
