[livejournal.com profile] jennyaxe has tricked me into watching House, M.D.. It's highly entertaining. The snark is fantastic. House is complete and total bastard, which is always fun to watch. House and Wilson are slashy at the "They must be doing this on purpose" level. Cuddy and Stacy are slightly slashy. Cameron should so get together with Buffy (doomed self-sacrificing girlfriend who dies – repeatedly; what could possibly be more perfect for her?).

And Hugh Laurie is a fantastic actor. It's really hard to believe that House is played by the same guy who was the dimwitted prince in Blackadder III.

Well, it's harder for an intelligent person to play an idiot than one might think.

Er, that is, it is indicative of greater acting skill than one might think for a person to be able to play an idiot, and also another non-idiotic character, that is.

Oh yes. What I meant is that Laurie uses so different body language in the two roles that they don't even seem to look particularly like each other. This goes for his character in the movie Peter's Friends as well.

Actors who can do that are scary, adapt every mannerism and habit for a role so you can specifically look for overlap and never see it.. There are very few of them when you start to think about it.

And House is just fun :-) Most of the medical stuff amazingly enough isn't too bad either, but then you'll get the odd episode where all you can do is stare and think 'Oy! Where'd your pet medic script editor get to this week?'

I caught five minutes of the show last night, and even I can see this, dimwitted as I can be about spotting such things in other places...

I honestly think it would be difficult to miss even with one's mental eyes shut...

Yayy [livejournal.com profile] jennyaxe!

I love the idea of Cameron and Buffy, also.

That is fantabulous. And also hot.
