Random watchingness
Nov. 22nd, 2006 01:04 pmOver the past few days, I've been listening to Ron Moore's podcasts about the third season of Battlestar Galactica on my way to and from work. And one thing he said about the episode Collaborators suddenly made me understand something that has been bugging me a tiny little bit about the show. Which is how it manages to be so relentlessly dark without going over the top and becoming ridiculous. And what he said was that when they try to figure out how their characters should react to horrible circumstances, they look to history. If some people somewhere were in similar circumstances, and how they reacted. Which, well, yeah, that'll be a recipe for believable horror all right.
I've also been watching the first few episodes of Eureka. Which is reasonably fun. Not anywhere close to great so far, but entertaining. As long as they don't get worse and they keep Jo Lupo around, I'll probably keep watching.
