Now is this good or bad?

Shortly before lunch, the new boss' boss appears in our part of the office. He walks around to all the people's desks, introducing himself to people and asking about what they do. Like, "Hi, I'm Suit Bosstype, the new manager for IT/Op, pleased to meet you... So what is that you do here? ...uh-hu... Can't say anything about the new organization yet, sorry..."

And repeat for the eight or ten people that sit between me and the entrance. Almost exactly the same conversation over and over again, main differences being in what the cow-orkers say, since everyone doesn't have the same name or do the same thing.

Then he gets to me:

"Hi, I'm Suit Bosstype. You must be Calle Dybedahl."

Now what's that all about?! I've never even seen the man before; why does he know who I am?

And then he proceeds to spend a good quarter of an hour explaining to me precisely why he doesn't want to say anything about the new organization yet. Which I hadn't even asked about.

I'm going to *guess* that it's a good thing. I think I'd be a bit creeped, though.

Are they aware of your previous annoyance at the company's behaviour towards your loved one? Perhaps they've worked out that an unhappy Calle is a bad thing.
