I finished reading Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix yesterday. And was somewhat underwhelmed at the hyped Death Scene™. The phrase "No corpse, no kill" sprang to mind pretty much immediately.

I would bet cash that this is exactly why J. K. Rowling mentioned that one of the main characters dies - because otherwise who would have believed it?
