Iron Slasher Contest
Dec. 2nd, 2004 01:15 pmNow that NaNoWriMo is over, I'm thinking of starting up that Iron Slasher Contest that I thought about and mentioned long ago (and that one person said they'd probably join). This is how I've imagined it working. Comments and suggestions would be appreciated.
- The contest is announced, with a theme. The theme for the first one will almost certainly be Buffy/Angel femslash.
- People who want to participate join
iron_slasher
- A certain number of days after the contest has been announced (like, five or a week or something), the moderator (that is, I) posts three ingredients that must be included in the contributed stories. From the moment that post is made, the clock is running.
- As the participants finish their stories, they post them to
iron_slasher. The community is moderated, so their stories will not be visible to the public at first.
- After the predetermined time (almost certainly one week) has passed, the contest closes. The moderator approves all posted stories, and creates a post that is a list of all contributed stories and a poll where every story can be rated on a scale from 0 to 10. The poll is open to everyone.
- The poll runs for another set time. After that time, the story with the highest average rating is announced as the winner, and its writer is crowned as $THEME Iron Slasher.
What do you think?
