Slightly longer coming-home report
Aug. 5th, 2006 10:21 pmRight. We're back from Scotland. We had an absolutely fantastic time. I like Scotland better every time I go there. It's like England, but much better.
This time, we first spent a day just walking around Edinburgh. Which was nice. Then we went off to spend a week with a whole bunch of witches (over 200 of them). This was totally amazing, but kind of exhausting. Being constantly active for about 21 hours out of every 24 for a week has at least me feeling a bit wrung out afterwards. Quite a few of the witches hung around Scotland afterwards as well, so we ended up spending more time with them instead of meeting up with LJ people. Sorry about that, LJ people. So in the last few days (after some heavy-duty sleeping had been done) we saw a bit of Glasgow (rainy), the Glencoe area (rainy, and oh so pretty) and a harp manufacturer (way neat! They showed us the workshop!) up there. On the way back to Edinburgh from Clencoe (which was not actually the location of the harp makers, but the closest place I can actually spell) we tried stopping in a place called Callander, which is one of the cutest little towns I've ever seen, but everything had already closed so it wasn't much fun.
Then we lazed around some more, drove down to Newcastle and took a ferry home. Or, well, to Gothenburg. We drove the last 500-odd kilometers from there.
