Mmm, lovely! I'm glad you got the 'wash your face' pic :) Another shot I like is when Inara first comes down the stairs in Serenity, and she and Kaylee "Hey, you" at each other. That was when I knew they were sleeping together :)

I read somewhere (forgotten where, unfortunately) that Iyari Limon was originally chosen for the role of Inara. I'm glad they changed it. Joss and Tim do say on one of the DVD commentaries that Morena Baccarin was a late addition to the cast.

That shot unfortunately is one of those that look really neat in the episode but doesn't work at all when still, unfortunately.

TvTome has the story about Baccarin being cast the last possible moment (audition Monday, contract Tuesday, start of filming Wednesday), but says that the originally intended actress was Rebecca Gayheart, not Iyari Limon. Not that it matters, Baccarin turned out better than I think either of those two would have.

The appeal for me is more about how their voices sound when they address each other. Very affectionate, and a bit mischievous.

I think the Iyari Limon snippet came from a Kennedy fan discussion on LJ somewhere, so it's not particularly authoritative. Someone might have mis-quoted a rumour or speculation.

There are a lot of Buffy/Angel alumni in Firefly, however - Joss and Tim were referring to various members of the supporting cast as 'hat-tricks', because they'd been in all three series.

I actually prefer Kayleigh to Inara, but then I'm odd.

Kaylee's in 13 captures, so she's not that far behind Inara. Most of the difference is probably in that they don't show her just sitting around being pretty as much.

Yeah, you're right. Most of the Kaylee bits I like have too much movement in them to translate easily into screen caps.
