For the first time in quite a while, a day when it didn't feel like everything just got worse. Started towards a solution of the misinstalled backup system problem, by inventorying all the broken things (fifteen major ones, we'll see how many minor ones once we remove the biggies). Found out that the purchasing of the new Oracle Financials server had been badly bungled ("You mean we have to buy disk too?") -- in plenty of time to get that fixed before it has to go live. And when we came home I actually had energy left over to cook something approximating real food for dinner.
