Yup!

Although I haven't tried to turn it on yet (it's charging the battery at the moment), so there's still room for Apple to disappoint me further.

If I gave something a name that began with a small letter everyone would criticise my English. Apple do it and everyone goes insane. When all's said and done it's a laptop. Admittedly a nice laptop, but it's not exactly the holy grail.

Well, it is a laptop that runs UNIX, properly. That's quite hard to get these days :(

You can mentally replace all the instances of "iBook!" in this posting with "Wheee! New toy!", if you like.

Well, I just did the "Whee, 17" TFT monitor" thing the other day so I really shouldn't criticise.

Just about to go to a charity shop that's been given an old Powerbook to see if it'll work with a spare HP PSU I've found. Doubt it's useful for me, but it's a good cause (cancer research, which I've supported for many years) and I'm not using the PSU for anything.

Just realised what was missing from your post... no iBook user pic? No cuddly baby computer pictures? tut tut tut...

Don't shoot the messenger...

This announcement (http://www.apple.com/se/) may not increase your happiness... BUT

I am reliably informed that in the USA it is Apple store (so I assume online store also) policy to credit you for the new price of the previous model, if that's the one you got. So complain fiercely (and immediately) and see if you get anywhere.

More specifically, it's the policy (last time I had a reason to check) within 10 days of purchase to credit you for the difference of the price you paid, and the new price of the "old" notebook.

Just do it soon, preferably now.

I've already been informed of this. And while I do intend to complain a bit about it, this is the sort of thing I more or less expect when buying computer stuff.
