Dead Like Me

I've spent a large part of yesterday and most of today on the couch watching the first season of Dead Like Me. Which is quite entertaining, with several more or less strange characters (Dolores Herbig is very strange and quite unsettling). And as usual, I more or less subconsciously kept an eye out for slashiness (I can't not do that these days). Of which it hasn't been much. Small things, like Betty calling George pretty and giving her her ring, or Daisy not only sleeping in George's bed but also complaining about what she does with her tongue.
And then came episode nine, Sunday Mornings. Which pretty much hit "They must be doing this on purpose" on the slash-o-meter.
First, Georgia and Mason go to a college, where we get to see a montage of George's vision of what college life is like. Which includes this.
Then they meet Charlotte, who very quickly becomes a good friend of George's. They go on lunch dates ("But it's not a date date!"), they go shopping, and so on. Friend stuff, really, and only more than that in a slasher's active imagination. Until Charlotte says something that upsets George and George walks off.
The next evening, Charlotte shows up at George's flat. She says that she refuses to accept that they're breaking up, followed by giving George a single red rose and a t-shirt that says "Boyfriend Shmoyfriend". They leave, refusing to let Mason come with them and with George saying that they're going to lesbian bars. Later, we see them sitting together, at night, on a roof, very much facing each other and Charlotte rather pointedly admitting that she's a virgin.
You really don't need very much imagination to go on from that...
