Movies II: AAAARGH!

There's going to be a film made of V for Vendetta. That's pretty darn wrong to begin with. It's a powerful and marvellously executed graphic novel, rife with shades of grey and fairly subtle moral philosphy. It would be hard to translate to the movie screen at the best of times.
It's going to star Natalie Portman as Evey. Which is, I guess, live-withable. She's supposed to be fairly pretty, at least.
The script is going to written by the two morons who perpetrated the atrocious Matrix movies. Who are almost certainly going to fill it up with the same wildly overemphasized action and "I flunked Philosophy 101" grandstanding that made The Matrix so utterly unwatchable.
I'm going to do my best to ignore this. If the end result should by some miracle happen to even vaguely resemble the book, I guess I'll hear about it eventually.

V For Vendetta will be McTeigue’s first film as director, but his action credentials check out...
Call me crazy, but I think they're MISSING THE POINT OF THE ENTIRE THING.
