Meeting

Yesterday we held the second in a (hopefully) series of meetings of active Swedish wiccans. It went surprisingly well, considering the short notice with which it was announced. Fourteen people showed up, representing a handful of different groups. There was more enthusiasm for starting (and maintaining) a contact network than I thought it would be, and several people actually willing to do stuff.

I also got some entertaining gossip from the old coven, but that's really not interesting for anyone else.

I'm really torn as I've dedicated myself to getting (more) back on track with my spirituality and doing activist stuff for Wicca in Finland, and now I'm missing the main meeting of active Finnish Wiccans because it's on the same bloody weekend as Redemption. D'ohh.

After being one of the major media activists on behalf of Finnish Pagans for more than eight years now, I was *really* chuffed to see a mention of Neo-Paganism in a school (gymnasiet) religion book that had *accurate* information of us, albeit as a brief mention in the "new religions" part. But I'm so damn happy that all the stress I've gone through with the media fuckwits has paid off. Even that little mention is a big damn step forward.

Book?

Was it, by any chance, Rossi's book (AD2000 Kohtaamisia)?

I can't remember which one it was. It was from the early 00's and I *think* it was a book for the students taking Christian religion classes instead of Worldviews/Philosophy. Can you point me to Rossi's book (series) on a publisher's website or something? I'd need the info for a news column I'm writing for the Lehto (Finland's Nature Religions' Association ) newsletter.

Are you Finnish, by any chance? If you are, email me at snowgrouse at phnet dot fi. Always glad to chat with someone who can at least spot Pagan stuff somewhere.
