Read Apple's Human Interface Guidlines (which are really good, and unfortunately not even Apple follow consistently) on the train to work. Then get to the office and start up Windows. Oy!

This is where you really see the value of Apple's guidelines. The annoying thing is that so many Windows developers are totally unaware of how a human interface is supposed to work. I get asked what is wrong; I give them a long list; they say that would take a lot of effort to fix. (There's also an opinion that the guidelines cannot be fully implemented in Java. Get rid of it then!)

My greatest hate is a product that has a modal dialog that pops up behind a splash. so you cannot see it, much less answer it.
