Birds of Prey

At long last I finally finished watching Birds of Prey. Overall, it's not a good series. The actresses do a good enough job, the actors aren't too bad, the special effects are cheap but do their jobs and the scripts just plain suck. And while good scripts can make up for a whole lot of not good in acting and effects, it doesn't work the other way around.
The biggest thing I wish they'd done differently is to not spend so ridiculously much screen time on glacially-moving and unconvincing romantic plots. The second biggest is used Mia Sara more. She was far and away the best actress, and the most entertaining character. Although I still think that Hudson Leick would've done an even better job of playing the dear Doctor Quinzell.
On the good side, they almost manage to go out with a bang. The final episode is definitely the best of the 13 they made. The opening Huntress/Harley scene was steamy, and I almost fell off my chair laughing when I recognised the music they played during the climactic battle.
gonzo21, I never got the address you wanted me to send the VCDs on to. If it's still relevant?

Date: 2005-09-11 09:17 pm (UTC)The use of the Tatu song was no accident.
Sherilyn Fenn played Harley in the original pilot. But she wouldnt' commit to a series, was the story, so they recast Mia Sara.
And, yes, it is still relevant. Though, might just be easier if you simply return the discs to me please:
