My iMac is developing a display problem (for a few seconds at a time, every other row of pixels moves a bit to the right). And its serial number turns out to be smack in the middle of the range that's known to be afflicted by the capacitor problem, so that's almost certainly it. Which, on the good side, should mean that I can get it repaired without paying anything. Bad side is I have no idea how long I'll have to be without it :-(
