Well, it didn't take seven hours. And now the new machine is up, working and mostly configured as I want it.

Now to have a look at the new features in Tiger.

10.5 is Leopard. This version is supposed to support Intel as well as PPC, so it might be a while coming.

Considering that developer builds of OSX/x86 is already available if you pay enough and sign enough NDAs (or get it off a warez site), I don't think it's all that unlikely that it'll be out roughly when they've said it will be. Which is summer next year.
