Looking at that which I actually wrote during 2005, it turns out to be an average of a little less than one story per month. That is, eleven for the entire year. Not counting the stuff that was too short to get its own file. Total new verbiage (again, excepting the short stuff) is 62335 words.
The majority of the stories are Buffyverse, as they've been for the past few years. Babylon 5, Xena and Battlestar Galactica have been seen before. Star Trek: Enterprise and Stargate SG-1 are new.
- Crash is a BSG/B5 crossover, featuring Ivanova and Starbuck. I'm fairly pleased with that one.
- Mutual Assistance I posted about a week ago, so you've all just read it (it's the Fred/Tara fic). Too soon to say if I like it or not.
- Hungry and Horny was the one set immediately after the last episode of Buffy, and featuring Buffy and Faith getting it on. I've had a boatload of flattering feedback on this one. Much because B/F is probably the most generally popular BtVS femslash pairing after Willow/Tara, but also I think because it actually is pretty good.
- The Secret Loves of Buffy Summers is a trivial piece. Part of it is all right.
- A Night on the Town has also had an unusually large amount of feedback on it, particularly so for a less popular pairing (Willow/Faith). I'm not sure if I'm that pleased with it myself, though.
- A Night at Home. The sequel to the above. Too soon to say if I like it or not.
- Post-Death Shopping. Cordelia/Glory. Better forgotten.
- Amazon Nation. Janet and Sam from SG-1 meet Gabrielle and the Amazons. This one I do like. It's been amazingly well received for a crossover piece. I really should finish the sequel.
- War Trophies. My only non-crossover Star Trek piece ever, as far as I can remember. Set in their Mirror Universe, which seems far more interesting than their regular one. Basically fluff, but I like it reasonably well anyway.
- Understanding is a bit of an odd piece, since the central relationship in the story is that between Fred and Illyria, while all the sex is between Fred and Kate, Cordelia and Eve (not at the same time). It works, I think.
- Shifting Views was an instance of a TV series episode setting up a situation that was just too tempting not to write. It's an all right story.
- Training Your Slayer. Dawn/Kennedy smut, plain and simple. Kind of a sequel to A Night on the Town, and comments on a line in it led to writing The Secret Loves of Buffy Summers. Which together with A Night at Home makes for four stories that are directly connected to each other. If I don't stop that I'll end up having my own post-series canon, and that'd be just sad.
