First part felt like a suprisingly non-bad rehash of themes SG-1 has already done too many times, second part may be the best episode they've done so far. Although I still severely dislike that they killed Janet.
I'm conflicted. I hated that they killed Janet. She was one of my all time fave characters of the show. A marvellous woman and I liked her much better than Sam (because of the Sam/Jack thing that severely has ruined the show for me). But yes, I thought it was a good episode. I would've been even better if we'd seen Sam mourn for Janet without making out with Jack...and I hated that comment about Cassie "she'll cope". TO me, that was uncharacteristic for both Sam n Jack. I still remember the ep where they got Cassie in the first place. I wonder if the writers do...
Bah, the Sam/Jack stuff is easily ignorable (particularly after Grace!). And I don't remember ever seeing Sam as distraught as she was here. That she turns to her teammates for support is just natural (and she gets more of it from Teal'c than from Jack, too).
Now I just have to watch up to 9:13... Oh, and finish this Sam/Janet fic.
I always remember CAssie. She seems to be a major character in my SG fic - at least, she is when I'm well enough to write it. (She's had a good role in two novels to date. She had a walk-on part, got put through hell and ended up earning herself a greater role. Someday, I'll write volume 3, Cassie insists on it.)
IMDb has Teryl Rothery playing "Dr Janet Fraiser" in SG-1 ep 9:13 "Ripple Effect". I wonder if that means they're bringing her back, or if it's some kind of one-off time/dimension thingy.
