We'll be taking this little fluffball to the animal hospital shortly, to have them look at a nasty-looking and foul-smelling wound that we don't know how he got. Wish him luck, please?

Considering the location of the wound, that icon was uncommonly appropriate. Thanks for the good wishes...

Eep! *switches to Big Fluffy Cat icon*

I'm glad to hear it wasn't too serious, I've heard that's a fairly common cat problem. Give Tusse a few scritches from me:).

If its really foulsmelling then its probably an abcess or similar - its something cats can get from time to time if they get tagged by another cat.

They clear up pretty quickly with antibiotics and having the wound cleaned out on a regular basis - I found one on Smokey (see user icon) earlier on this year, naturally when [livejournal.com profile] ejde was away for about a week so she couldn't use her 'lite vet nurse skills. It was just a case of me squeezing the gunk out and then taking him to the vet for a check up. I found it early enough that he didn't need antibiotics - just rinsing out with saline.

Good luck for your furrball.
