Have I mentioned that Red Hat Linux is rapidly becoming my second-least-favourite Unix variant?

HPUX. Which may be better these days, I haven't had to touch it since v10.20 was the latest. But damn that one sucked.

Oh, say no more. Heheh. I was restricting my mind only to Linux and hadn't read properly.

HPUX is quite bad.

Oh, _PLEASE_.

What about Openserver? Unixware? Xenix? I could keep going, if you want.

Not that I like RH, but if it's your second least favorite, you've forgotten or never knew the pain of having to relink the kernel to change an IP address -- as of 2000, you still had to do that on openserver. The userland was _worse_.

I've never had to admin any of those for real, so they don't qualify as my least favourites. If they're yours, I absolutely won't argue. What little I've seen of Openserver was definitely deranged (that was the one where everything under /usr was a symlink, wasn't it?).

I don't know. I've repressed all but the worst of those memories.

I wish I could repress the rest, but there's just not enough alcohol.
