How many different backgrounds does Huntress have? So far I've seen two variants in comics, and the TV version was someone else entirely.

Also, how old are these people supposed to be? Dinah Lance ought to be a good bit older than Barbara Gordon if she was already an established superhero by the time Barbara got started as Batgirl, but it doesn't really look like that when she's working for Oracle.

TV's Helena Kyle is (very loosely) based on Earth-Two's Helena Wayne. After Crisis on Infinite Earths, Huntress was re-introduced to the DCU as Helena Bertinelli, who had her own series for 19 issues. Ten years after that series ended, her origin was revised in Huntress: Cry for Blood. This year, Huntress: Year One is slated to be published, which will change her origin hopefully for the last time.

Sorry, that should be Batman/Huntress: Cry for Blood. (Slashes don't work the same in comics titles the way they do in fandom). He isn't in it very much, which is why I forgot.

As for the age thing...yeah, comic characters don't age the way normal humans do. Dick Grayson (Robin I/Nightwing) is lucky he ever got to grow up.

Dinah's trip to the Lazarus Pit gives her a youthful glow that infomercial producers could only someday hope to bottle and sell.

I've personally decided to expunge all continuity since Crisis from the record. The idea of Dinah being the daughter of the original Black Canary is too stupid for words.

I always liked the idea of a top secret headquarters in the Town Hall Clock.

But Birds of Prey's Gail Simone is IMO the best writer in comics today. If you can, check out her Rose and Thorn mini-series, and her Killer Princesses.
