It's from 1987, according to the cover. So it's not all that old. The more I read, the stronger the impression gets that somebody is trying to convey something without actually saying it outright.

Hmm. I don't recall in the second series (which began about then) that the island of the Amazons was gone.

I'll have to re-look at my collection.

Themyscira is not gone. This is Diana's first trip to Greece, so she's probably thinking about Amazons of ancient times.
