I remember when we borrowed cats in the vacation that we had the same problem and sometimes had cat hair on the table too :)
I used a special brush but I cannot explain this in in good English. But you brush only in one direction with the brush and you can get away hair and nap (ludd) I also have such a brush (a little one) to the vacuum cleaner.
A famous biologist in the Netherlands once claimed that a cat has 40 million hairs: 5 million on its tummy, 10 million on its back and 25 million on the couch...
