Might it be snow ???

Which melts as soon as the Sun comes up (for assumed values of "as soon as")

Two years ago it started falling in mid-November and melted in April. Evil, evil white stuff!

Send it north :-)

I HATE the darkness, it makes me tired and irritable and even less fun than usual to be around. Snow makes it much better, as long as it's reasonably cold so it stays and doesn't turn into ice and slush. YMMV.

Where I live, that fluffy white stuff is bits o' burned houses.

Tho' admittedly for those of us whose houses have NOT burned down during the seasonal Mother Nature Does Housecleaning With A Blowtorch festivities, it is warm, and will be sunny as soon as it stops snowing house bits.

Meanwhile my neighborhood will soon be celebrating the holiday season by renting snowblowers, filling a dry reservoir, and charging people 20 bucks to play in it.
