This is for you people who noticed me in your "Friend of" list and went "Who the smeg is that?".

To you I'd like to say that "Friend" in this context is a really badly chosen word. "Friend of" would be more suitably named "Subscribers" and "Friends" should be "Subscribees".

So, no, I don't really think you're my friend. I just had a look at your journal and found it interesting enough that I want to easily see your new entries as you write them. That's all.

Well, I can entirely understand this. I've never met you, so it's hard to instantly call me a friend when you have no real clue of who I am.

But also know that I've also met 36 (yeah, I just went and counted to check) people on my friend's list, and most of those I can consider a friend in the real sense of the word.

My point? It's possible that you may call someone on your friend's list a real friend one day. :)

Oh, yes, certainly. I may be new to LiveJournal, but I've been on the net for twelve years now, and I have a bunch of friends that I met over it. Some of them I've also met in RL, some I haven't.

So maybe I should've said "I don't think you're my friend yet" :-)
