Pretty good episode, although it Josses my Anya/Willow WIP all to Hell and back. I'm actually getting to like Anya, which is scary.

I wonder what language Aud and Olaf was speaking. Parts of it sounded like Swedish with a really atrocious American accent, other parts of it sounded like Estonian and other still I couldn't make out at all.

Ooh, and a glimpse of Darth Rosenberg! I like badass!Willow.

They seem to have taken the name and the general appearance from Icelandic sagas, but they're not speaking Icelandic. It doesn't sound even nearly like it, and I understood too much of it.

Maybe your initial gut reaction -- terribly botched Swedish with atrocious American accents was correct? My guess was Joss was probably planning on doing it in Icelandic -- just to be consistent w/ the references to the sagas, but couldn't find anyone in Los Angeles who spoke it and can do decent enough translations so the actors could attempt it.... Maybe it was really bad Old English?

Myabe. I'll just have to watch it again and listen more carefully. Oh, the sacrifice!
